Format guide

Which output should you choose?

The best format depends on where the photo is going. Keep the original HEIC file as your archive so you can convert it again later.

JPG

Best for photographs, email, forms, smaller downloads, and broad compatibility.

PNG

Best when you want a lossless output for editing, though the file will usually be larger.

HEIC converter FAQ

What is a HEIC file?+

HEIC is a space-efficient image format commonly used by Apple devices. Some websites, Windows applications, and older devices do not support it directly.

Should I convert HEIC to JPG or PNG?+

Choose JPG for photographs, smaller files, and broad compatibility. Choose PNG when you prefer a lossless output for editing. Converting to PNG does not add transparency that was not present in the source.

Can I convert several HEIC photos together?+

Yes. Add multiple supported HEIC or HEIF files, choose an output format, and download the completed results.

Are my photos uploaded?+

Conversion runs locally by default. If a newer HEIC file is incompatible with the browser decoder, the tool offers an optional server fallback and explains the transfer before you choose it. The fallback processes the file in memory and does not intentionally store it.
